Overview:
Lamborghini begins a new chapter in its V-12 company flagship lineup
with the all-new 2012 Aventador. The Aventador charges ahead with
stealth-like exterior and interior styling similar to design cues seen
on the limited-production Reventón. Power comes from the new mid-mounted
6.5-liter V-12 rated at 700 bhp and 509 lb.-ft. of torque, and is
delivered to the asphalt via a new 7-speed transmission called the ISR
(Independent Shifting Rods) and all-wheel drive. Thanks in part to the
car’s single carbon-fiber tub that weighs just 325 lb., the Aventador is
only 22 lb. heavier than the last lightweight Murciélago SV. According
to Lamborghini, the Aventador can accelerate to 60 mph in just 2.9 sec.
and reach a top speed of 217 mph.
