Hyundai new Elantra 2012 |
Hyundai Motors Indian has launched the all new fluidic Elantra in the capital city at a price tag of Rs. 12.51 lakh for base petrol variant and Rs.12.91 lakh for base diesel variant (ex showroom NewDelhi).
Hyundai Elantra is now based on the Korean manufactures new fluidic design philosophy which was first seen with Hyundai Verna.
The Petrol powered 2012 Hyundai Elantra houses a 1.8-4-cylinder litre VTVT engine that cranks up 150bhp power and 177Nm torque and is offered in three guises , Hyundai Elantra base, Hyundai Elantra S and Hyundai Elantra SX.
Coming to Diesel mill it hosts a 1.6-litre VGT engine (seen under the hood of Verna) that churns out 128bhp and 259Nm of torque and is available in four guises Hyundai Elantra 1.6-litre Base, Hyundai Elantra 1.6-litre S, Hyundai Elantra 1.6-litre SX MT and Hyundai Elantra. Even though Hyundai Elantra is a decade old, it was unable to garner sales and hence the need arised to launch a new avatar of Elantra in the hope of ramping up its sales and to get its fair share of attention.
The all new 2012 Hyundai Elantra will be a competitor in price segment against Chevrolet Cruze, apart from Skoda Laura, Honda Civic, Volkswagen Jetta and Toyota Corolla.
